About Camba Capital
A planning practice being built for Long Island's pension families.
Camba Capital, LLC is in pre-launch. Founder Dan Zimon is completing Investment Adviser Representative registration under an established advisory firm. The firm is being built for the households the rest of the industry tends to look past: teachers with NYSTRS or NYCTRS pensions, police and firefighters in PFRS, civil-service employees in ERS, LIRR and MTA families, and the Northwell, Stony Brook, and NYU Langone workforces that make Long Island run. Private-sector 401(k) households are welcome too. When open, the firm will operate fee-only and as a fiduciary by design. Paid only by clients, never by fund companies, insurance carriers, or product sponsors. One advisor, one phone call, plain English, the relevant numbers on the table. At your kitchen table, your office, or over Zoom.

Founder
Dan Zimon
Founder and Principal, Camba Capital, LLC. Building the firm as a fee-only fiduciary practice in pre-launch, completing Investment Adviser Representative registration under an established advisory firm, serving Long Island.
Dan spent more than a decade on the institutional side of capital markets. Across hedge funds where risk discipline, quantitative rigor, and process were not optional. Before making a deliberate move into household wealth planning. The conviction that drove that move was simple: most working families have no one in their corner who actually understands how money is managed at the institutional level, and the gap between what professionals know and what families are told is the most expensive thing in retail finance.
Camba Capital is the result. Dan takes everything that experience taught. About markets, about portfolios, about risk, about what really drives long-term outcomes, and translates it into something a working family can actually use. No jargon. No talking down. No “trust me, it's complicated.” Just plain English, the relevant numbers on the table, and a clear path forward for whatever decision is in front of you.
Whether the question is when to elect a pension, how to roll over a 401(k), how to invest a windfall, or whether to retire next year. Camba meets each family where they are, not where the industry assumes they should be. The institutional rigor lives in the work behind the scenes. The conversation lives at the kitchen table. The math is on paper. And the answer is whatever is honestly best for the family, never what is best for a product.

Licensing & credentials
Series 7 · Series 66 · NYS Life & Health · NY Real Estate · Notary Public
Fully licensed across investment advice, securities, life and health insurance, real estate, and the everyday paperwork most retirement decisions actually involve. The NYS Life & Health license is held so annuity and pension-payout comparisons can be analyzed objectively rather than sold. Notary services are included at every in-person meeting at no additional cost, beneficiary updates, IRA rollover forms, joint-and-survivor elections, account transfers, the kind of paperwork that usually means a trip to the bank.
Capabilities, not products
Five licenses. Zero commissions.
Dan Zimonholds Series 7, Series 66, NY Life & Health, NY Real Estate, and Notary Public. Five licenses span the regulatory perimeters of securities (Series 7), investment-adviser representation (Series 66. Applied as fiduciary duty when Camba Capital is registered and open), life and long-term-care insurance, real-estate transactions, and notarization.
At Camba Capital, the licenses are how the firm reads what is already in your household. Your existing 401(k) statement, your variable-annuity contract, your closing documents on a downsizing, your rollover paperwork. At the level of the professionals who wrote those documents. That is the only thing they are for here.
Camba Capital does not sell securities, insurance, real estate, or any product. The licenses are an audit capability. The fee is the compensation. Nothing else.
What this means in practice
- Read your variable annuity contract, and tell you what it actually does. No replacement sale.
- Audit your existing life and long-term-care policies for cost, coverage, and gaps. Refer to a fee-only or low-load specialist if new coverage is needed.
- Model the tax-efficient downsizing math (Section 121 exclusion, capital gains, mortgage-payoff vs invest). Refer to a vetted realtor for the transaction.
- Notarize the rollover form, the spousal consent, the beneficiary change, the deed transfer. At the kitchen table, free, within the engagement.
- Once registered, every recommendation will be carried under the fiduciary duty Series 66 establishes. Documented in writing.
No referral fees. No revenue sharing. No commission revenue from any product, in any direction.
Service area
Camba comes to you.
Camba Capital serves families across all of Long Island. Nassau and Suffolk Counties, from Garden City and Mineola in the west, through Hicksville, Plainview, Syosset, and Huntington, out to Smithtown, Commack, Stony Brook, and Port Jefferson in the east. Most clients meet with the firm at their kitchen table, their workplace, or over Zoom. Most have never had an adviser come to them. That is how it should work.
How Camba operates
A different standard of care.
Institutional process, household scale
Risk-aware portfolio construction, disciplined rebalancing, and tax-aware implementation. The same process used on institutional capital, applied to a family's balance sheet.
Pension-first planning
The retirement income picture is built around the pension floor, not around the portfolio. The pension, gross and net of WEP/GPO, is modeled first, Social Security claiming is layered on top, and only then is the investable portfolio sized and positioned to fill the gap and absorb the market shocks the pension can't.
Direct access to the founder
One advisor, one phone call, no hand-offs. Clients meet with Dan Zimon directly, at the kitchen table, the office, or over Zoom, for every review, every decision, every question.
